Here are my qualifications:

 

Iʼve been doing marriage therapy for more than 30 years and Iʼve succeeded with thousands of couples.  My practice is highly specialized, one of the few in Colorado that is devoted entirely to solving couple problems.

A master marriage therapist, Iʼm a true "emergency room doctor" for couples is crisis, an expert at treating couples in severe distress. I save marriages on the brink of divorce, even if thereʼs been an affair or one partner has "given up." 

 

Iʼve got a national reputation, having travelled all across the country leading marriage rescue workshops.  Now couples travel to see me in my beautiful Colorado setting.  They come to participate in my Colorado Marriage Counseling Weekend Intensives. 

 

 

I have trained in or studied virtually every major approach to couple therapy that exists and on your weekend intensive Iʼll draw from all these approaches to help you.  However, the primary approach Iʼll use will be Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, or EFT, because itʼs so powerful.

EFT is a highly effective, state-of-the-art approach that has been proven to have an astonishing success rate. According to research studies, EFT brings 75% of distressed couples to recovery and another 15 % to significant improvement.  Fully 86% of couples report feeling happier in their relationships.  

I was the first therapist in our seven-state Rocky Mountain Region to become fully trained and certified in EFT.  Iʼve had more experience using this approach than any other therapist in our part of the country.  In addition, I was one of the first EFT therapists in the nation to pioneer the use of EFT in a weekend intensive format.

 

Iʼm one of the few therapists who is licensed as both a clinical psychologist and a marriage and family therapist.  This means that on your weekend intensive I can help solve both the individual problems and the relationship problems that have contributed to your distress.

I have an M.A. and a Ph.D. in psychology, which I earned in 1975 and 1978 at the Rosemead School of Psychology in LaMirada, California.  Also, I have a certificate in marriage and family therapy which I completed in 1985 at the Denver University Graduate School of Social work.

In addition, Iʼm a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  Through this organization I keep abreast of advances in my field and subscribe to a stringent code of ethics.

 

I developed this program based on over 30 years of experience working with hundreds of affair-stricken couples.  Itʼs based on the seven stages I have discovered that couples need to move through in order to heal from infidelity. 

 

Hundreds of couples have benefitted from interventions used in this program.

Iʼve found that my Affair Recovery Program works particularly well in the context of a marriage counseling weekend intensive. 

 

 

Iʼm one of the few therapists in the nation who offers private marriage counseling weekend intensives to couples in conflict and crisis. 

 

In one two to four-day weekend, I quickly get couples through the worst of their conflict or crisis and well down the road to recovery. They get a lot more done in a lot less time than they could in the same number of weekly sessions spread out over many months.

Couples who have travelled from all across the country to work with me attest to the effectiveness of my weekend intensives. Many credit their weekend intensive with saving their marriage.
